Friday Night Party at the Last Minute? No Problem!

Sometimes the best parties aren't planned at all. When friends show up unexpectedly, you'll just need a few fridge and pantry ingredients to create deceptively beautiful and sophisticated party bites!

*Make a quick boozy sangria - Add apples, oranges, plums, peaches or apricots (sliced of course)  with sugar (1/2" cup) to a large pitcher and muddle for 45 seconds. Add orange, cherry or cranberry juice (2" cups) and brandy or cognac ( 2" cups) and muddle again for 30 seconds. Add 2 bottles of red wine, white wine, champagne, sparkling wine or rose and stir, then taste and adjust flavor as needed. Add ice and stir once more. Done!

* Transform jarred or canned olives into marinated olives - Warm in olive oil with seasonings of your choice - try red pepper flakes and garlic, orange or lemon zest with rosemary, coriander and fennel seeds. Serve with sliced baguette! Delish!

* Grab that plain yogurt that you didn't eat at lunch and transform into a tasty delicious yogurt dip. Add olive oil, lemon juice and zest, chopped garlic, salt and pepper. Serve with any veggies in your fridge, baby tomatoes, carrots, celery, sliced cucumber or radishes.

* Convert that packaged hummus into a dressed-up hummus platter- Scoop into a pretty bowl; drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika or cayenne pepper. Serve with pita or flatbread.

* Reach for that goat cheese log and transform into a fancy herbed goat cheese - Roll in chopped fresh herbs - parsley, chives, cilantro or an original mix of your choice. Serve with a fancy cracker.

Three Things You MUST Eat In The Morning

If you want to start the day with high energy or have a quick mid-day recharge you MUST eat and drink the following things:

* Water- We all wake up dehydrated already, so drinking water, yes before coffee is the best thing we can do to feel at our best.  Dehydration leads to fatigue, and can be avoided by loading up with H2O first thing in the morning.

* Pink Himalayan Salt- You can mix half a teaspoon of pink himalayan salt with your wake up morning water or you can sprinkle it on a low-glycemic piece of toast smothered with grass-fed butter!  Yum!  Dave Asprey the creator of Bulletproof Coffee, explains that doing this helps your adrenals get started.  He say's its "like flipping on a light switch", it won't contribute to high blood pressure, and it will reduce adrenal stress.

* Grass-Fed Butter- If you haven't tasted or heard of Kerrygold butter, it will change your life! There are other brands in the market, but I am addicted to this one.  You'll see why once you taste it!  Grass-fed butter is a healthy nutritious fat because it's higher in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin K2, you can add it to your coffee or spread on a piece of low-glycemic toast.  The idea is to have a sustainable energy source that lasts for hours.
